Nymbot knowledge base
Nymbot is a private AI assistant. Every message is end-to-end encrypted, every reply is paid for in Bitcoin, and there is no account to make — a key on your device is the whole of it.
What Nymbot is
An assistant you talk to the way you would talk to a person in a messenger. You open a conversation, you type, it answers. What is different is underneath.
- There is no sign-up. A keypair is generated on your device, or you bring one you already have. That key is your identity, your history and your balance.
- Messages are end-to-end encrypted. Your question and its answer travel as gift-wrapped Nostr events, sealed to keys only the two ends hold, with a post-quantum layer over the classical one.
- Replies are paid for in sats. No subscription, no card, no invoice with your name on it. You buy credits over Lightning and spend them a reply at a time.
- It can stop knowing who you are. Anonymous mode moves the whole conversation onto a throwaway key and moves your credits across as blind vouchers, so the server bills a message it cannot attribute.
Under the hood it is the same assistant that lives inside Nymchat, running on the same infrastructure and the same key. Buy credits in one, spend them in the other.
How to read this
The nav on the left is the whole knowledge base, and the search box at the top filters it by heading, so you can jump straight at a term you half remember.
If you have not used Nymbot yet, Getting started is five minutes and covers everything you need to send a first message. If you have, the pages you are most likely to want are Credits and pricing, Models and routing and the command reference.
Every page also exists as markdown — add .md to its address — and the
whole site is summarised for agents at /llms.txt.
